It's me again! Carol of Danville, IN. Gosh, I am still treading water: not moving ahead whatsoever on my John Drake.
John Drake, bc 1837, Cass Co, IN (per Civil War Record), married 1863, Paulding Co, OH, to Corintha Ann Chapman, daughter of Daniel Abner & Elmira (Rose-Bell) Chapman, she was born 1847. John served in the 14th Company, Ohio Volunteers; enlisted on the 11th day of February, 1864, at Toledo, Ohio; He was wounded during the Georgia campaign and discharge in 1865.
Their children: Clementine (1864-1865) Paulding Co, OH; Leonidas (1866-1944) Paulding Co, died Vermillion Co, IN this is my line); Alfred (1867-1870) Paulding co, OH; Arminda Rose (1868-1946); Electa Almira (1870-1961). John Drake died in February 1879 at Union Co, IL and is buried 3-1/2 miles west of the town of Mill Creek, IL. Most of this information comes from his CW record and Bible records of Corintha's.
