Hello to the Drake Exchange. My name is Ken Drake. I live in Cold Lake,
Alberta, Canada, and I am searching for information on part of the
family of
William Izaiah (Zed) Drake in Wyandotte County, Kansas.
William Izaiah Drake was the son of
Joseph Francis Drake and
Mary Ella
Ellis, and was born in Bethel, Kansas on July 5, 1873.
Zed had one
brother,
Ernest Leonard who was born in 1879.
Mary died on July 15, 1885
and
Joseph married
Jennie Atkinson in 1886.
Joseph and
Jennie had one
son,
Herbert Leroy, on Nov.3, 1889.
Zed Drake married a woman whose
first name was
Hilda. We do not know what her last name was.
Zed and
Hilda had two daughters,
Nellie M in 1891 and
Minnie Agnes in 1894. The
marriage of
Zed and
Hilda did not endure and we have been unable to
locate any trace of these two girls.
Zed later married
Kathryn Olivera
and they moved to Alberta. They were my Grand parents. The last census
records we were able to locate showed that the girls were 18 and 15
years old in 1910 and were in Kansas.
We would appreciate any
information relating to these two girls and also to any other descendants
of the Drake line from Kansas.
