Robert Drake Baltimore |
From: R.E.Baltimore
Date: Sunday, December 31, 2000 11:10 AM Well heres what I have off the top of my head. My sons' name is Robert Drake Baltimore. He is named for me and my mother Frances Maillard( french for drake or duck.) All thru our tree is the names Robert, Francis or Frances, and Drake. My mother is related to a family branch who lived in Guernsey, most notable were the editor of the comet, a minister, and one William Job Maillard. As stated in the book Victoria Cross at Sea by John Winton 1978 was the only medical officer to win a victorian cross at sea in the crimean war. He is documented in royal navy archives and in books as being an ancestor of the drake family. This has been passed to me by both word of mouth and written documents. Our family can be well documented due to the fact that the first prime minister of England and Victor Hugo are also related. If you want copys of documents let me know. |
