Harley Drake
Harley Drake, 94, of Hampton, died October 17, 2002. Born August 8, 1908 in Dow, Oklahoma, he was the son of union organizer William Joe Drake of Worthington, Indiana and Laura Arkanzada Hasty of Paris, Arkansas. He was a member of the First Family of the Twin Territories in Okla and a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans in Hampton, based on the civil war service of his two great grandfathers, Mathew Keith Williams of the 8th GA. Infantry and James Monroe Hasty of the 7th AL Cavalry. He was retired from the Pennsylvania State Employees system and moved to Hampton in May of 1990 to live with his daughter, Shirley Maynard.

Drake was predeceased by his parents, a twin brother, Arley Drake, and a sister, Mineola Drake of Dow, Okla, and three half sisters, Leola Williams Farmer of Henryetta, Okla, Madeline Drake Yeager of San Francisco, Cal, and Anna Beulah Williams.

In addition, Drake was predeceased by his three wives, Mary E.Moore of Sutersville, Penna., Mrs.. Mary Clark and Mrs. Pauline Zelinsky, both of Pittsburgh. He is survived by his son, Harley Drake and wife Eileen of Sutersville, Penna, and his daughter Shirley (Mrs. Lionel William Maynard) of Hampton. He has 6 grandchildren surviving: Miss Wendy Drake of Sutersville, Penna; Michele Maynard Amarose and her husband Nicholas of Bloomberg, Penna; Michael Maynard and his wife Debbie of Kansas City, Kan; Susan Maynard Grainger and Veronica Maynard Tuttle of Hampton; and Captain Lionel "Lee" Maynard, Jr. and his wife Caroline of Seoul, Korea. He has 10 great grandchildren: Kelby Sims of Shreveport, Louisiana; Jason DiCarlo of Pennsauken, New Jersey; Marine Corp. Adam Maynard of Texas; Jarred Maynard of Kansas City, Kansas; Shirley, Christie, Britanny, and Lionel Maynard III of Seoul, Korea; Mari Kaschalk and Kira Grainger of Hampton and 5 great great grandchildren! : Brooke, Landon, and Nathan Sims, Dylan Mills, and Lydia Kaschalk, "PapPap's kids," all of Hampton. . A brother, William Joe Drake, of Burkburnett, Texas also survives.

Funeral services will be private. Interment will be in the Parkview Cemetery mausoleum on Armistead Avenue, Hampton.
