The following is the obituary notice of my grandfather, Henry Milton Drake born April 17, 1892 in Pownal and died Aug 10, 1965 in Kamloops, BC. He was the son of George William Drake and Elmira Jane Clarke of Montague, and Ft. Augustus P.E.I.
Henry Milton Drake
A well known resident of the Shuswap area, Henry (Harry) Milton Drake died on Aug. 10, 1965 in Kamloops B.C. at the age of 73.
Mr. Drake was born at Pownal, P.E.I. on April 17, 1892 and came west in 1905. For many years he operated a store and farmed in the Shuswap area.
Surviving him are daughter, Mrs. Irma Neufeld, of Zelandia Saskatchewan; two sons, Willard of Chase, B.C. and Gordon of Calgary AB.; also nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret on July 04, 1962.
Rev. P.A. Galardi conducted the funeral servic at Schoenings Funeral Chapel, on Friday Aug 13 at 2 PM. Internmet in the family plot, Hillside Cemetery.
