Vernon, BC CAN Wheatley This obituary appeared in the local paper for Margaret Lillian Drake born September 15, 1908 Lot 48, Pownal and died March 15, 1998 at Imperial Saskatchewan. She was the daughter of John Richard Drake and Susannah Jane Drake. MARGARET LILLIAN WHEATLEY Margaret Lillian Wheatley, aged 89 years, of Liberty; Sask. passed away at Long Lake Valley Integrated Facility; Imperial, Sask. on Sunday; March 15, 1998. Funeral service was held from Bethel United Church, Liberty on Wednesday, March 18th conducted by Rev. Elaine McLaughlin. Interment followed in Liberty Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Don and Evelyn Kennedy; Ed and Isabelle Wilson, Thelma and Al Busse, Maureen Tittemore, Greg Tittemore, Robert and Dot King, Charlie and Bernie Ell, Clarence and Amelia Robertson, Carol and Paul Remlinger and Frank and Jean Friese. Pallbearers were Don Anderson, Mike Tittemore, Larry Wolff, Jim Stratton, Craig Busse and Bob Robertson. Merrill Comba and Steve Dornian were the ushers and Rose Hannay was the register attendant. Jeanine Vanthuyne was the organist. Margaret Lillian Wheatley was born in Waterside PEl in 1908 to John and Susanna Drake. She came to Kedleston with her parents as a young girl and finished her high school and normal school training in Regina going on to teach in various schools including Penzance and Liberty. She met her husband Bill of Liberty and were married in 1931. They continued to live and farm in the district all their lives. Margaret was active in the UCW ladies organization, she enjoyed travelling and her garden. Predeceased by her husband Bill in 1986; parents John and Susanna Drake; brother Russell and sister Mary Drake. She is survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Fotheringham -McDougall Funeral Service of Watrous and Nokomis were in charge of arrangements. |
