Henry Bruce Vallandingham,
1807-1856
Henry Bruce Vallandingham
This was taken from a photo of a large oil painting. It is of Henry Bruce Vallandingham, 1807-1856. He was murdered in 1856 by pro-slavery forces just before our Civil War. Henry's mother was born Betsy Bruce Drake, 1770-1851. Henry has high cheek bones. His father was half-American Indian. Henry is the subject of one of my books, "A Time to Heal." I know the name of Betsy's father and grandfather, but no more than these.
Thanks.
Thomas Fiske
