Heraldic symbols over the doorway of Buckland Abbey. In the center is the new coat granted to Sir Francis. To the left is the sinister palm appaume' which is the badge of a baronet. To the right is a helmet with the visor open, another symbol of the baronet. Descendants of Sir Francis' brother Thomas were baronets and apparently proud of it.
