From: Paula Hahnel Date: Friday, October 01, 1999 1:55 AM Dear Roy, Thank you for including my family in your Genealogy List. Josiah Drake (Dean of Ely), lived at the Priory at Prickwillow near Ely. He had 4 sons - James, Arthur, Josiah & Alfred, all went to Cambridge with the idea of entering the Church. Josiah (went to Soham, Cambs.) and Alfred (went to Leeds, Maidstone, Kent) took Holy Orders. James went to Clare College, became friendly with Charles Bradlaugh, a Radical who became an MP in Gladstone's Govt in 1880, and gave up the Church. He married Honor Brown at Isleham, Cambs. in 1862. He died in 1902, buried in West Ham Cemetery. Had 4 sons (Joseph, James, Charles, Frank) and 4 daughters (Ada, Elizabeth, Anne, Eva). Charles Frederick Drake, son of James who died in 1902, married Gertrude Alice Evelyn Henning, daughter of Henry William and Ann Selina Henning. They had Charles Edward, Percy Frederick, Dorothy Evelyn, Beatrice Florence, Ruby Constance, Arthur William, Frank Albert, Lilian Gertrude, Winifred Edith (my mother). Thank you very much.
