MUSWELLBROOK BOY KILLED

Mr and Mrs Alex Weidmann, well - known and highly respected residents of Muswellbrook, had the misfortune to have their young son, Alexander, aged 5 years, killed in Sydney on Monday afternoon last. The family had been spending a holiday with some of their people in Darlinghurst, and the boy, while crossing Oxford St, was run down by a Motor Car. One of the wheels passed over the boys chest. He was picked up and taken to St Vincents Hospital, but died before reaching there. The remains were brought to Muswellbrook - to where the family were just about to return - and were interred in the Church of England Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon. The Coffin ( says the " Mercury " Correspondent ) was covered by beautiful wreaths, and carried by members of the Oddfellows Lodge, who marched in Regalia, and not withstanding the rain, which, fell heavily at the time, was largely attended, and was a striking expression of sympathy with the bereaved family in their misfortune.
Thanks
