THE SINGLETON ARGUS 19TH MAY, 1927 -
A RIVER MESSAGE – Mr. M. McDermott
picked up a bottle on his farm near the
Nelson's Plains Ferry, which contained a
piece of paper stating - 'Thrown in Hunter
River, Thursday, at Mount Thorley,
Singleton', address - Mr. Colin Moxey,
Mount Thorley, Singleton' - no date was
marked on the paper but it is presumed the
bottle was thrown in during the earlier rise
in April.
