THE SINGLETON ARGUS FRIDAY, 12TH MARCH, 1943 - LEECHES ON THE NOSE

- During a cricket match, Mr. Adam Mather met with a painful accident. At the conclusion of one team's innings, Mr. Mather was preparing to enter the field and stood on a form and then stepped, with the other foot, on to the top of the material box, for the purpose of hanging his coat high on a nail over the box. While doing so his foot on the box slipped and he fell rather heavily on to the hinge of the box lid, which was turned backwards and struck his face violently on the edge of the open lid, with the result that Mr. Mather received two nasty cuts on the nose. Mr. G. Porter dressed the wounds and applied leeches.
