There is a ROBERT WALKER listed, April 6, 1810, LEE COUNTY, Tax List.
John D. Drake and Mary P. Foster married June 28, 1827 in Lunenburg, Virginia. REFERENCE: BOOK 9, PAGE 212, Lunenburg Courthouse, Lunenburg, VA.
There is a JOHN DRAKE listed in the 1830 LEE COUNTY Census.
John and Mary are found in the 1850 BRUNSWICK COUNTY, (Lunenburg Now), 1850 VA Census with their 5 children. His Occupation is listed as WHEELWRIGHT.
Silas was listed as a LABOURER at age 18, still living in the home, along with his brother, JOEL, also listed a LABOURER, age 17. Lucy, his sister age 11, John, his brother, age 7 and Louisa, age 4.
Silas married a Mary Walker. There is a Mary Walker in the 1850 BRUNSWICK COUNTY Census.

John is 66, Mary is 56, Silas J. is 28 with occupation, painter. Lucy A. is 21, John F., is 16, Louisa M., is 14, Harriet Walker is 16, and John Berry, is 15.

1870, Lunenburg County, Columbia Grove, Page 304 Census:
Marp P. Drake, 65 is keeping house. Lou M. Drake, 23, without occupation. They are living in the home of Patrick Turner, no relationship listed. Also there is Patrick Turner, 45, born in Virginia, Elvira Turner, 35, and two domestic servants. Fannie Turner, 12, and a black boy, Louis Jefferson, 12.
In this same Census, Silas J. Drake was living in the household of Abraham NEBLETT. He was 39 years old and a Wheel Wright. John F. Drake, age 27, was with him, as were Lucy Turner, age 8, and Henrietta Turner, age 1.

Note: BRUNSWICK COUNTY WAS FORMED IN 1720 FROM PRINCE GEORGE, ISLE OF WIGHT AND SURRY COUNTIES IN VIRGINIA. THE COUNTY SEAT WAS LAWRENCEVILLE, VIRGINIA. IN 1746, LUNENBURG COUNTY WAS FORMED FROM BRUNSWICK.
Lunenburg was named for LUNEBURG, one of the German Possessions of England's Hanoverian Kings. THE COUNTY SEAT IS NOW LUNENBURG, VA.

On the Marriage Record in the Lunenburg Courthouse, Lunenburg, Va., John F. Drake, son of John D. Drake and Mary P. Foster lists his occupation as a mechanic. Marriage date: August 23, 1873. They were married by Albert Andeman.
Janice died at age 17 of Pneumonia. Janice married John F. when she was only 14 years old and John F. was 29. She died, August 29, 1875.

7. Daisy Disston3 Drake* (Silas James2, John D.1 Drake) was born June 11, 1877 in Lunenburg, Virginia, and died June 24, 1952 in Richmond, Virginia. She married William Cameron Grove , Sr.* June 29, 1904 in Lunenburg, Virginia, son of Franklin(Frank) Grove** and Bettie Nunn*.
Notes for William Cameron Grove , Sr.*:
The Franklin (Frank) Samuel Grove family (Betti Mercer Nunn) went to Bluefield, WV in the 1905-6-1907 time frame, then to Basic City, Waynesboro in 1910.
William, Sr. was visiting in Crewe, VA, when he became ill during the flu season of 1963. The next morning he died and is buried in the GROVE PLOT in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Richmond, VA.
His wife Daisy and Family called him, "Cameron".
W.C. Grove married Daisy Drake on June 29, 1904. At that time, W.C. Grove lists his age at 25 years old. Daisy, however, lists her age at 24 years. This would have made her born in 1880. Her tombstone inscription reads, Daisy Drake Grove was born in 1877. W.C. Grove lists his occupation as Railroad Agent as their Residence as West Virginia. The marriage was performed by S. N. Lorr. S. N. Lorr is the same person that married Daisy's brother, Albert A. Drake when he married Lola G. Walker.

After Ina died, Paul "Webber" Drake, married on December 28, 1923, Essie M. Oliver. Paul lists, "Widower" and Essie lists, "Widow" on their Marriage Record. They list their residence as Victoria, VA. They were married by D. M. Austin. This is on Page 139, at Lunenburg Courthouse, VA.
