Elizabeth Drake Elizabeth Drake, dau of Captain John Drake, married first a Joyce, and second William Corey. The Drake-Corey marriage is recorded as 03 Apr 1743. The birth of their first child, William Corey is recorded as possibly 06 May 1743, one month after their marriage. Original records were partially destroyed so the last digit of the year is not legible. The year could have been just as east 1744. Can anyone help me with this? Also, Elizabeth Drake was the daughter of Captain John Drake. Does anyone know what he was the Captain of? militia? seafarer?
