Jacob DRAKE
- born in Windsor,
Connecticut Mar 23, 1732/3;
Is anyone familiar with the book entitled:
"The Descendants of John DRAKE by Winsor Conn" - I found this book in the
Allen County Library in Ft Wayne, IN
I think that my line is in this book but, I am new to this list and have
not seen many (or no) references to any DRAKES from Luzerne County,
Pennsylvania; Columbia Cty, New York; or Connecticut. Jacob DRAKE (6) -
[(Jacob (5), Jacob (4), Job (3), Job (2), John (1),] - born in Windsor,
Connecticut Mar 23, 1732/3; married in Wintonbury Parish, April 12, 1764,
Rhoda DRAKE b. Aug 15, 1747 (parents - Asahel and Damais (KELSEY) DRAKE).
They moved to Columbia County, N.Y., and in 1790 Jacob DRAKE (6) was the
head of a family of nine persons in Hillsdale, NY. Rhoda DRAKE (1747) died
about 1775. Jacob DRAKE, while in New York State was a minister of the "New
Lights" denomination, but later became an Elder in th Baptist Church. He
traveled along the Hudson River. He settled in Exeter, Luzerne County, Pa.,
about 1792 and organized the first Baptist Church in Northern Pennsylvania.
He was in failing health after the year and finally became blind. He died
Nov. 4, 1806 the "Dimock Diary" says in Dallas, PA.

in Windsor, Connecticut:

Jacob: b Jan 20, 1768 d. young
Jacob: b Jan, 1773 - Columbia, N.Y. m. Nancy Keeler of Susquehanna, PA.
Jacob DRAKE followed the work of his father as a Baptist minister.
He moved to Ohio - Delaware County.
I have a document from my gggg-grandfather Almanza ROGERS who m. [Melinda
FULLER a descendent of the Mayflower Edward FULLER]. Almanza said his
mother was [Rhoda DRAKE b. abt. 1771] who had a sister named Adonis and
Jacob. Rhoda DRAKE (Abt. 1771) married Elihu ROGERS, they lived in
Plymouth, Luzerne County Pennsylvania. Is Rhoda DRAKE (1771) the daughter
of Jacob (1732/3)
and Rhoda DRAKE DRAKE (1747)?
Can anyone help with this line of DRAKES?
