I have hit a brick wall with my own Drake Family.It's
very frustrating to say the least! I could use all the
help I can get please!

I can't seem to get past my 2x
great-grandfather,Thomas Drake, born 1810 in MD.to
unknown parents,according to the census. He married
Hannah Browning on 25 Jan.1837 in Harrison Co.,OH.She
was born circa 1815 in either OH. or MD.(I've seen
both) to unknown parents also. Thomas & Hannah Drake
moved to Monroe Co.,OH. & had 10 children. Their names
were: William, Benjamin, John, Thomas Carter(my line),
Mary, George Washington, Wesley, Frederick, Cassandra
& Esther. By the 1870 census Thomas & Hannah & 7 of
their 10 children moved to Wapello Co.,IA.where I lose
track of most of them. Only William,George & my Thomas
remained in OH.

Thomas Carter Drake, born 4 July 1842 in Monroe
Co.,OH. married Lovina Bowie on 19 Oct.1865 in
Washington Co.,OH. John Drake,brother of Thomas,
married Lovina's sister, Josephine Bowie, in
Washington Co.,OH. on 5 Aug.1865. They were the
daughters of James William Bowie & Nancy Ann Hearn of
Washington Co.,OH.

Thomas & Lovina Drake had 11 children;2 boys & 9
girls.The older children were born in Washington
Co.,OH. while the younger children were born in
Ritchie Co.,WV. Their names were: Nancy Ellen, Hannah
Jane, Eli Carrington(my line),Tommy(born in 1872 in
Washington Co.,OH.-died at 15 in 1887 in Ritchie
Co.,WV),Mary Sue, Eliza, Rose, Elizabeth H., Amanda
Jane, Carrie S.& Edna Lucy. Now that I look at my
information again the last three daughters were NOT
born in OH.

I've gotten a few more details on another branch of my
Drake Family.It's on my great-grandfather's oldest
brother,William Drake.

William Drake was born in 1837 in either Harrison or
Monroe Co.,OH.,USA. He married Rachel Ann Felton on 24
Aug.1864 in Washington Co.,OH. They had the following
children:
Charles born?
Matilda born 1869
Elizabeth Lovina born 18 July 1875 in Monroe Co.,OH.
married George W.King & died 31 Oct.1939.
Carie born 1876.

Some surnames(I don't have all spouses yet) that have
married into my Drake family in OH. were: ARTHUR,
BROWNING, BOWIE,BROWN,BURKHART,EBERHART, EDINGTON,
FELTON, FRY, GALLAGHER(GALAHER), GANTZ, HIGHMAN,
JONES, McGEE, McGRAW, MORRIS,NAYLOR, PIATT, RICHARDS,
ROLLINS,SMITH, TURNER, UNDERWOOD & WEHR.
