My mother, Marjorie Louise Nichols Farmer, and her 3 siblings are the children of the Nichols-Drake marriage. My great grandfather, Drake was a mulatto with Creek and African ancestry. He was born in Georgia and died in the 1940s prior to my birth in 1947.

I was fortunate to meet with Carol Highsmith, an enrolled member of the Creek Nation, who resides her in Philadelphia at a recent gathering of the Cherokee peoples, here in the Delaware Valley. She directed my to the Creek Nation web page. After an exhaustive search I was able to locate my ancestors and their ties, both blood and marriage to the Creek Nation.

I am a professional educator, with over 15 years classroom teaching experience in social studies and English. I hold a Master of Arts in history (University of Guelph, Guelph, Canada) and I am completing the requirements for my Ph.D. in education (Kennedy Western University, Thousand Oaks, CA). I am currently teaching high school social studies here in Philadelphia, PA.
Thank you for your kind attention and support. Please forward the application for tribal enrollment to FRANKLIN FARMER, 408 West Chelten Ave. Apt. 1, Philadelphia, PA 19144. I can be reached at any time at (215)991-9793 or e-mail fedf@yahoo.com
