Date: Thursday, 27 May 1999 9:40 Am searching for information about an Alta Jane Drake who was married to a Willard D Gray. Am uncertain as to her date of birth or where the marriage took place. Willard Gray was born in 1875 or they were married that year. Info is from family bible that was began in 1794. This info is from the Gray family bible. I found several Alta's but none with the middle name of Jane. Well I have found out some more on Alta Jane Drake. She had 7 children. Ivy M. Gray born Jan. 27, 1876 Bessie M. Gray born April 4, 1877 Jose L.R. Gray born sept.17, 1878 Gypsie M. Gray born May 5, 1880 Harry W. Gray born Febr. 24, 1883 Frank L.R. Gray born Febr. 24, 1891 Edwin L.R.Gray born Febr. 24, 1891(these were twins) All of the children were born in Grand Ledge, Michigan except the twins Frank and Edwin were born in Detroit. I would like to get back to who the parents of Alta Jane were but will require more research I guess. ADDITIONAL NOTES: Alta Jane Drake was my Grandmothers mother and she was married in Grand Ledge, Michigan on March 30, 1875. My Uncle told me yesterday that she only lived to be about 38 years old. My Grandmothers name was Gypsie Gray. I am trying to find out more and maybe I will soon. I have always been told that I was a direct decendant of Sir Francis Drake.
