		(Dennis was born in Washington County, PA.  
He married Caroline, the daughter of Moses and Marilla Lindley Patterson 
on Oct. 28, 1847.  He was a farmer near  Athens, OH and moved to Edgar County, IL
 about 1854. Two years after the Civil War, Dennis and his family, his wife's two 
sisters and two brothers and their families were all living in the same neighborhood
 near Russell, IA in Lucas County where many of their descendants still reside.  
Dennis joined the Presbyterian Church at LaGrange, IA in 1870.  His farm was located 
on the highway about three miles east of Russell, IA, where he lived until his death 
in 1915. For the record, he died at Farnhamville, IA and is buried at Russell IA.
