Mary Jane Horner was
was born on May 23, 1839 in what is now West Virginia and died on June 21, 1924,
in Clendenin, Kanawha County, West Virginia. I believe, though am not certain, that her father was Eli Horner. Oral tradition has handed down that he was killed by a man named Slack. Mary Jane Horner's mother's maiden name was Drake. I believe that she was Barbara Drake, born c. 1814 in Pike County, Kentucky, the daughter of Charles Drake (1780-1842) and Clarissa Jeams (1788-1860). Any confirmation, or corrections, of my theories would be appreciated.
