DRAKE, Richard, W. 3788 BA -J / AWF;  b. 22 Aug. 1762, s. of Tristram Drake
of Halifax CO, NC and w. Elizabeth Volun from Halifx CO, NC.  Richard was
allowed pension 14 Aug. 1832 in Chatham CO, NC where he was a Methodist
minister.  He m. 15 Aug. 1786 Louise Drake, dau. of Edmund, b. 5 Oct. 1767.
 Richard d. 7 Sept. 1835.  in Chatham CO, NC; his widow d. after 1848; ch:
1. Ethelbert, b. 3 Feb. 1788; minister in Richmond, VA 1841
2. Elizabeth, b. 1 Mar. 1791
3. Alfred, b. 6 Oct. 2793
4. William H. b. 7 Nov. 1796

The file contains pages torn from the Bible.  Caswell Drake, brother of the
widow, Elizabeth was b. 18 Feb. 1776 and was a resident of Warren CO, NC in
1841. The widows pension number was #3788.

DRAKE, William, #S.8375; vol. from Chatham CO, NC in 1776; served on tours
of three months as a private in the North Carolina troops, under Captains
Geroge Herdon,.and Clark, and Colonels Luttrell, and Thackston; he was
taken in the battles of Lindley's Mill and White Marsh, continued to serve
until the capture of Cornwallis, length of servis about two years.  He gave
his age as 77 (b. abt 1755) as of 20 Sept 1832 when he was residing in
Chatham CO, NC.  He died 13 Mar. 1837.

DRAKE, William, #23745-31; m. 1834; rec. $60/yr. commenced 4 Mar. 1831; The
account of June 7, 1832 went to a NC agency. His name was on a list of
voters in Chatham CO, NC in 1777; ancestor of Alice H. Drake.

Drake, William, #8675; enlisted in Fincastle, Botetourt CO, VA, 6 Apr.
1777; served 3 years as a Sergeant in Capt. Perkin's CO, Col Samuel Hawes'
VA Reg't. Allowed pension 31 Oct. 1826, res. Franklin CO, VA, ae. 75 yrs.;
d. 8 Jan. 1829; m/ June 1783, Chesterfield CO, VA.  Anna/Nancy Chappel who
d. 15 Aug. 1847 Hardin CO, KY; ch:
