D. B. Drake, M. D., was born 05 Aug 1822 in Belmont County OH, and is a son of Enos Drake, who was an officer in the War of 1812, and was born 08 Jul 1787. His wife, Jane Drake, was born 31 Aug 1794. Our subject spent his youth on his father's farm in Morgan County OH, and in attending the public schools. In 1852 he began reading medicine under Dr. R. J. Almond, and in 1855 he began the practice of his profession, which he has since followed. He is at present located at Leo OH, where he has built up a large practice. He was married 05 Mar 1846 to Elizabeth, daughter of Samuel and Abigail Naylor. They have eight children: Amanda J., born 31 Dec 1846; Mary A., 28 Jul 1848; C. D., 09 Aug 1850; W. M., 23 Jun 1853; Jonathan N., 22 Dec 1855; Francis J., 06 May 1858; Elizabeth E., 12 Apr 1861, and Allie M., 11 Feb 1864.
