Isaac Drake, b. Taunton, 31st May, 1753, where he d. 10th May, 1800; m. Jane CROSSMAN, b. 1754; d. 7th September, 1788, dau. Otis and Prudence CROSSMAN. Isaac took an active part in the War of the Revolution, beginning his military service as "Drum Fife," 2d May, 1775; he was at Battle of Bunker Hill and siege of Boston (State Archives, Rev. Rolls, Vol. XVI., p. 25); served later in R.I., was at "Tiverton Alarm," etc. (Ibid., Vol. II., p. 14, 166; Vol. II., pp. 25 and 81); he was a ship-builder; 4 children. |
