G'day from Australia,
I read your interesting article on the Drake Snuff Boxes. Thank you
for the information.
My name is Steve Grose, I am a pastor in Newcastle Australia.
As a child in the 1960's , my grandmother Lillian Myrtle
Churchward ( her maiden name was Jesser) showed me the family
heirloom of a silver snuff box engraved with the Drake family crest.
The box was simple. The crest was etched simply. I was lead to
understand that it came from her family (the Jessers) but may have
come from the Churchwards. The box was stolen by a family friend in
1968 or thereabouts. Does this style of box fit with the memorial
releases that you are aware of?
I understand that Sir Francis Drake ha no lineal descendants, and
that it is possible that he gave birth to an illegitimate child
within the Jesser family? Can you comment on this?
Thank you for your time and effort to read and possibly answer my queries.

Yours Sincerely
jo wells
