My GreatGreat grandfather was Samuel Drake, born in Eythorne, Kent county, England, about 1809. Does anyone know anything about the Drakes in Eythorne before that time period? Anyone related to Samuel Drake besides my family in Minneapolis, Mn. |

My great great grandfather was Samuel Drake, born 11-11-1808 in Eythorne. His parents were John Drake and Hannah Adkins, both from Chillenden. Samuel Drake was married to Sarah Ovendon. They had several children, one of whom was James, who came to the U.S. along with a brother or two. I believe one of them was named Peter. James' son Albert was my grandfather. Albert was born in Minnesota and moved to North Dakota where my Dad was born. My Dad moved to Seattle and I live in Edmonds. Albert had nine children, and there are descendents scattered from North Dakota through the midwest and Pacific Northwest.
I have more information if you think this is the right Samuel - most of it is in paper form |

I am also related to Samuel Drake but cannot get farther back than John & Hannah. I am working with another relative to see if Samuel's family is descended from Sir Francis Drake. |
