Dear Sir--about 58 years ago,my mother was in hospital giving birth to my sister.
My paternal grandmother visited, and loaned my mother an old bok.Inside the front cover was an inscription with the drake surname, and the address Armada house,Plymouth.
It transpired that my paternal grandmother`s maiden name was Drake, and her family had lived in Armada House,as direct descendents of Sir Francis Drake.
Unfortunately,my parents were divorced, and the families were not in touch. They were a family of sea-farers and shippers--that is all I know.
it would be intersting if anyone could shed further light upon this matter,
S.Ellis

Hi Suzanne, my apology for the late response to your interesting message.
If only a person could turn back time and find out about the Drake relationship
with your Grandmother. Do you have any idea as to her patents names or anything
like that. The Admiral had no descendents but his brother Thomas had a large family.
I will post this message on the website,
regards,
Roy

Hi,Roy--thanks so much for your reply.I am trying to get a copy of my mother`s marriage certificate, which should have my grandmother`s details.Sadly,my parents had an acrimonious divorce when i was a baby, and the two families did not keep in touch, which makes my search very difficult.I would therefore be very grateful for any suggestions regarding my search.
My grandfather was called Philip Croy Ellis-but I do not know exactly how this was spelt. It was his wife,my paternal grandmother, whose maiden name was Drake.
regards,Suzanne.

I would like to express apiorcpatien to you just for bailing me out of this particular incident. Right after scouting through the search engines and finding things that were not pleasant, I believed my life was done. Living without the strategies to the difficulties you have sorted out all through your entire short post is a crucial case, as well as those that would have in a wrong way affected my entire career if I had not noticed the website. Your main know-how and kindness in playing with all areas was excellent. I am not sure what I would have done if I hadn't come upon such a subject like this. I am able to at this moment relish my future. Thanks a lot very much for the high quality and sensible help. I won't be reluctant to recommend your web page to anybody who wants and needs care about this subject.
