My father when he was a small boy can remember a large clock on his grandmothers mantlepiece called 'Drakes Drum'. It was a model of Sir Francis Drake leaning up against the drum which was part of the clock face. As his grandmother's ancestors were clockmakers in the Eastend of London, I would love to know if anyone has heard of this clock and where I might be able to see one.
