My father when he was a small boy can remember a large clock on his grandmothers mantlepiece called 'Drakes Drum'. It was a model of Sir Francis Drake leaning up against the drum which was part of the clock face. As his grandmother's ancestors were clockmakers in the Eastend of London, I would love to know if anyone has heard of this clock and where I might be able to see one. |

Hi there Tony, there are a few articles on my Drake website at; http://www.xroyvision.com.au/drake/history/hist38.html relating to "Drakes Drum". I have also moved your quiry to the "Sir Francis Drake" folder under Drake genealogy. best wishes, Roy |
