Born Isle of Wright, Va. about 1692. His Father's name was Thomas Drake born in England. This is the line that leads down to my GG Grandfather Eugene Benton Drake who married Maria Louisa Ramsey, Chatham County, N. C. I would like to have any info. concerning Richard and Thomas. First time I have seen this message by Maryly Seay. Did she ever get the information for which she was looking?? There are several on the list who might be able to help her including myself. Paul, Charles, Frank (who lives near Raleigh and desends from this Richard).
The Richard she seeks is refered to in the records of Southampton as Richard Jr. to separate his from an older cousin of the same name. He died in Southampton in 1759 leaving a will.
