Fanny Elizabeth Drake married James Byrne in 1807 in Sydney, NSW, Australia. They were my mother's parents. Fanny was born in 1880 in Sydney. She died in 1949.Her siblings were: Rebecca Esther Drake, b. 1883, d. 1956, m. 28/9/1900 to Robert McKinney b. 1876, d. 1948; Ann Rachel Drake, b. 1879, d. 1879; Esther E Drake, b. 1885, d. 1885; James Robert Drake, b. 1886, d. 1887; Ellen Mary Drake, b. 1889, d. 1981, m. 1918 to Richard Kenny b. 1877, d. 1939; and Florence M Drake b. 1892, d. 1915.
Fanny's parents were James Drake b.10/11/1846 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England, d. 16/4/1894 (drowned in Johnson's Bay, Sydney Harbour), m. 13/5/1878 at Scott's church, Church Hill, Sydney to Rachel Ann Hewett, b. 7/11/1857, d. 1927. James' occupation was Mariner (Merchant Seaman).
James' parents were Henry Drake b. 1816 in Dursley, Gloucestershire, England, d.1902 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England, m. 15/7/1838 to Esther Perkins b. 25/3/1810 in Cranham, Gloucestershire, England. Their children were: James Drake (as above), Edwin Thomas Drake b. 1843 in Bath, Somerset, England, d. ? m. 18/4/1864 at Charlton Kings, Gloucestershire, England to Sarah Bond; Sarah Drake b. 1852 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. Henry's occupation was House Painter.
The parents of Henry Drake were: Joseph Drake b. about 1785, d. January, 1832, bur. 5/1/1832 at St James the Great, Dursley, Gloucestershire, England, m. 27/12/1804 to Rosammund (Rose) Summers b. 1780 in Stinchcombe, Gloucestershire, England, d.1852 in Dursley, Gloucestershire, England. Their children were: Henry Drake (as above); Sarah Drake b. 1814; John Drake b. 1818, d. 1871, m. 1846 at Shoreditch, Middlesex, England to Georgiana Petrie; James Drake b. 1805, d. 1873; William Drake b. 1807, and Joseph Drake b. 1812.
